Pioneering the future of research

NASK-PIB is a national research institute with more than 1,000 specialised employees, whose mission is to develop and implement solutions that guarantee the security of Poland’s cyberspace and the development of information and communication networks in Poland. NASK facilitates cybersecurity actions, educates, and conducts research and development work in computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and distributed networks.

As the institution that connected Poland to the Internet in 1991, we believe these disciplines are the future of science, the economy, and society. The research carried out by the NASK SCIENCE team makes it possible to create world-class new technologies responsibly.

Our contribution

to the Digital4Security project

The NASK team is mainly involved in implementing the tasks under WP4 and is responsible for coordinating task T4.5. In addition, NASK actively participates in the substantive work under WP2 and WP5 and has supported the implementation of the tasks under the other WPs.

Building on its experience in machine learning-based methods, blockchain technology, methods used in anomaly detection, vulnerability of information systems and software, quantum security, secure data processing and data analytics, the NASK team will actively participate in all work aimed at developing general assumptions of the Digital4Security educational programme, supervising and mentoring in the preparation of projects (student, PhD, etc.) and supporting and actively collaborating in the development of a repository of research problems, case studies, examples of the so-called “good practices”, applications.

The NASK team will also support the organisation of Weekend Workshops, Networking Events and Guest Lectures and actively participate in all dissemination activities.

Our mission

NASK in Digital4 Security represents the group “Research Centres and Cybersecurity Clusters” partners. The Masters level education programme developed and validated under Digital4Security can be successfully used to retrain and upskill second and third-degree graduates, professionals, managers and business leaders, who will become ‘cyber confident’ and equipped with the cybersecurity management knowledge necessary for the functioning of modern institutions and businesses in the Digital Age.

Implementing the assumptions of such a comprehensive approach is only possible with the active participation of institutions such as NASK-PIB at all levels of education and professional advancement. The main assumptions of NASK-PIB’s strategy regarding internationalisation plans to open an individual doctoral school, transfer of knowledge and skills at the pan-European level, etc., coincide with the project’s assumptions. Participation in Digital4Security guarantees the consolidation and popularisation of NASK-PIB’s image as a leader in cybersecurity research and education in the European arena. Active work within the Digital4Security consortium provides an opportunity for targeted training and exchange of current and future NASK-PIB staff on a ‘career forge’ basis.
